BioProtect’s proprietary technology platform for the production of biodegradable balloons suits a wide range of clinical applications.

The balloons are made of bioresorbable polymer, and can be manufactured in any shape and form. Balloons maintain their size and shape in the body during the radiation period and naturally biodegrade over the course of treatment.

In radiation oncology, spacers are used to protect organs at risk and healthy tissue adjacent to the radiation target area and exposed to unintended high-dose radiation. This is a major challenge in radiation oncology treatments.
